I've never been a big cactus person. I love succulents but cacti in general never really excited me.
It' important to remember, All cacti are succulents but not all succulents are cacti.
A while back I saw this cactus and fell in love with it. It is so ugly that it's beautiful I believe it is Cereus peruvianus f. monstrosus, from South America.

I bought a little thumb sized one years ago for a mixed dish for my office. It outgrew the pot and I gave it its own clay pot. On my stoop in Spring, back on the window sill (Eastern light) in late Fall. It is about 10 inches tall and very heavy. but I have not been able to get a cutting to make a new plant.
